Carrboro Historic Millhouse

Originally built in the 1930’s as homes for textile mill workers, these historic millhouses in Carrboro, NC are some of the last living memories of a vibrant textile industry that flourished from the late 1800’s up until the mid 1900’s.

Converting the existing screen porch into a sunroom / office space gives flexibility to the rest of the home and allows it to function efficiently. In addition to a flexible work space, the client wished for additional storage and a larger bath.

The proposed design includes a full primary bath w/ a sauna and laundry room. A larger closet for was provided in the primary suite, and the kitchen was renovated to allow more storage and natural light.
