Timberframe Homestead

Demolition had already begun on this 1983 timberframe home when NLS was brought on board to design and manage this project.

Initially constructed in Morrisville, NC, the entire timberframe structure was dismantled and moved to a large wooded property in Orange County, NC. The entire program was reconfigured, providing for a large open common area and a generous primary suite. Two bedrooms, one bath, and an office upstairs encapsulate an open loft with a sitting / homework area for the kids.

The new home is clad in 6.5” SIP wall panels and 10.25” SIP roof panels, giving an R Value of 24 and 40, respectively. The new home lowers heating and cooling load with superior performance and a tight building envelope.
